Agentic workflow
A process where one or more AI agents carry out multi-step tasks, often with human checkpoints, inside a defined pipeline.
Definition
Agentic workflows combine agents with structure: defined steps, tool permissions, approval gates, and logging. Automation platforms increasingly let non-engineers assemble them, for example an agent that qualifies leads, drafts outreach, and waits for approval before sending. The design goal is to keep autonomy where it is safe and add humans where errors are costly.
